Hadil Hijazi, MA, MSc

Director

Hadil Hijazi is a Director at WTI Advisors and a seasoned trade policy advisor with close to 20 years of experience in advising public and private institutions on trade and economic policy.

Her broad practice focuses on trade policy and law, including in particular WTO and FTA negotiations, WTO accession, regional integration, trade in services, trade facilitation and investment facilitation, among others.

Hadil has a longstanding experience in advising governments on trade policy formulation and design and on trade negotiations. She has advised several countries and groupings on the DDA negotiations on trade facilitation, trade in services, trade and environment and trade and development. Hadil has also supported client governments on matters related to substance and process in the context of their accession to the WTO, and advised the LDC Group and UNCTAD on operationalizing the LDC Services Waiver decision. Recent engagements include assisting Cambodia in its DTIS revision (she contributed a chapter on trade in services), drafing a study on Myanmar’s services trade and advising the CARICOm Group in the WTO on investment facilitation.

Hadil is an experienced team leader and trainer. She is a regular speaker at conferences and seminars on WTO/ trade matters and is an author to various trade publications especially on WTO accession, services and trade facilitation. She holds Masters degrees in International and Comparative Legal Studies from SOAS, London and in Management from Boston University. Apart from her native Arabic she speaks English, German and some French.

Assist the Ministry in preparing and drafting the Palestinian foreign trade regime in line with WTO requirements. Provide the Ministry with policy support to shape foreign trade policy options. Support the Ministry to negotiate regional trade agreements.
